Welcome from the Secondary Division Chair

Alabama has a thriving high school theatre community. From comedies and tragedies to musicals and one-act plays, high school students take to the stage and share their talents. Dedicated teachers work long hours and instill a passion for theatre and the arts. While schools are usually busy working on productions in their own neighborhoods, there is one particular event that brings all Alabama schools together – The Walter Trumbauer Theatre Festival.

At the festival, students network, audition for scholarships, and learn by watching and performing. Teachers compare ideas and see what other schools are doing. All go back home with a greater appreciation that high school theatre stretches all across the state.

As Secondary Chair, I am delighted to work closely with Jane Cornelius, Secondary Vice-Chair who will serve as Chair for the 2010 Festival. No matter the size of your school or department, we want you to be involved with Trumbauer. You will become part of a network of people who share your commitment to high school theatre. Theatre has always been about community. Be a part of it!

Sincerely,

Jane Cornelius
